Diner en Blanc

Starting off our 3-course meal right!
I don't know about you, but having a picnic dressed all in white sounds like a recipe for disaster; grass stains, food spillage and red wine catastrophes.  So, I was a little skeptical when a friend of mine invited me to check out Le Diner En Blanc especially when she said that we would have no idea where we'd be going and we'd have to pack a laundry list of items which included a table and chairs. It sounded like a lot of work for something I didn't quite understand.  I went anyway. Duh, of course I went anyway!

We packed up our picnic basket and headed to our designated meeting place where we boarded a coach bus to an undisclosed location.  How mysterious! We arrived at Ontario Place to a loud cheer.  We then unpacked our things and headed onto the grounds to set up our tables.  Everyone's table had a distinct personality based on their table setting and food (you're responsible for bringing all of that too).

The organizers did have some pretty fun things in store for us too: ballet dancers, live painting, floating lanterns, live band, DJ, two photo booths and sparklers.  In the end everyone puts in a lot of effort and it's a big awesome party.  So, if you're up for getting all dressed up and sharing a meal with 1500 of your closest friends, I would get on that wait list sooner rather than later.  This isn't the easiest fête to get into.

And that view....
