The Food Diaires: Poco, NYC

We were headed out for an evening of debauchery in Alphabet City and looking for a place to eat nearby when we found PocoThe tapas at this place was so good, we ordered twice.  We also couldn't wait to dig in long enough for me to take a photo of the first round, so all I have left to show you are scraps. Sorry.

"Poco" in Spanish means a "little bit", which is fitting for a tapas spot that specializes in "small plates", but nothing about this place was mousy.  All of the dishes and the sangria packed a big punch.  There may have been a lot of giggling at our table before we were through with dinner. Sangria....

The star of our meal were the brussel sprouts (WTF?, did I actually write that?) They were phenomenal! May have even gotten me into brussel sprouts.  They were the perfect blend of sweet, spicy and savoury.  I can't wait to try and replicate them at home.  We also sampled their shrimp ceviche, octopus, mac n' cheese, steak lollipos and bacon wrapped dates.  Our least favourite items were the seafood, but even our least favourites were delicious.

I know this is a little out of the regular tourist area, but if you find yourself on the east side, this place is totally worth checking out.  I can't wait to go back and try the brunch!
