Aberfoyle Antique Market

Last weekend marked the beginning of my treasure hunting season with the opening of the Aberfoyle Antique Market.  The market takes place every Sunday from the end of April through to the end of October, so you'll have LOTS of opportunities to find that "thing" you've been looking for.

Aberfoyle is located in Guelph, so you'll need some wheels; preferably ones with ample trunk space.  You don't want to get stuck like I did once with more purchases than trunk space and have to call one of your buddies to drive all the way out to bring your stuff back.  I mean, he was probably just sitting home playing video games, but it was still annoying.

You should also come armed with some paper money.  Most dealers that have big expensive pieces will take your plastic, but you'll need cash for the smaller things.  Cold hard cash will also give you more bargaining power.  That's right, most often the price tags are only a suggestion so be prepared to haggle for your goods.  (I secretly wish Prada worked that way)

Bring your hunger.  The burgers are sooo delicious! They are tasty and juicy and the onions are sauteed to perfection.  On warmer days there's ice cream too.  I guess it's a good thing you'll be walking around for a while and maybe even lifting some furniture to work off those calories.

So even if you don't leave with a new purchase, you'll at least have had a nice day outdoors and a delicious burger.
