Kirstenbosch Gardens

After spending time with a lot of new friends, diving with sharks, petting cheetahs, hiking up mountains and enjoying too many wine-soaked late nights I was finally ready for a little solitude in the sun, so I headed off to the Kirstenbosch Gardens for some much needed "me time".

It was springtime in Cape Town so the park was full of beautiful flowers and lush greens.  With the sun on my face and the gentle breeze carrying my thoughts away, it was the perfect place for a little meditation.... or a nap as it turned out.  What? Like you've never fallen asleep on a park bench before.

I don't have much of a green thumb, nor do I have any background knowledge on flora.  But, I can tell you that the gardens have lots of little treasures to be discovered from carvings, to dinosaurs, to tree-top walks. There's lots to see if you're looking to have a quiet stroll in the sunshine.  You might even come across a turtle.  Those guys are adorable!
