One step forward and two steps back on Dune 45

Ever look at a giant sand dune and just think, "the view is probably really good from up there?" You're right.  The view is amazing from up there.  You just have to be pacient, because it's going to take you a while to get up there.  So kick off your shoes and get to climbing.

Here are a few pointers to get you to the top.  Firstly, it's much easier to walk up when you're barfoot.  Secondly, if you step in other people's foot prints, you'll get much better traction and your climb will go a lot quicker.  Lastly, you're going to want to climb in the morning before the sun heats the sand to a temperature where climbing the dune barefoot is no longer an option.  If you can, be there for sunrise.  It's awesome!

Take your time at the top.  Don't just climb to the top of the dune to check something else off your list.  You made it all the way up there so enjoy the view, feel the warmth of the sun and the sand blowing in the wind, you may never be there again.  Revel in it.
